Scarlett Johansson was born on November 22, 1984, at New York City New York. She is an American singer/actress whose range has gained her recognition across a range of kinds of genres, from thrillers to adventure films to period dramas. Johansson is the daughter of a film director and architect. The family is from New York City. Hunter, the sister of Johansson was born in the City of New York. From a young age she discovered a love for acting. She began performing in commercials by the age of seven. To enhance her skills, she attended an acting class at Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in Manhattan as well as she attended the Professional Children's School. At age eight she appeared with Ethan Hawke in the Off-Broadway production Sophistry, and at nine she made her debut in film in Rob Reiner's North (1994). Johansson then appeared on screen in Just Cause, but she made her debut with Manny & Lo, a film about orphaned siblings who run away. She next earned praise for her performance as a teenage girl who suffered a disfiguring accident in The Horse Whisperer (1998) and she gained further attention for her role as the cynical teenage outcast Rebecca In Ghost World (2001). In a television commercial Smith starred as Dannon Yogurt. As with many actresses who started out, she decided to perfect her craft in the world of theatre. In addition, she worked on other projects throughout the USA as well, and Wildflower was her first stage production. She was a student at The Stonestreet Studios Conservatory part of the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts'.
